KING CRAB! Real life Deadlist Catch

Sunday, October 26, 2008

My wonderful class.

Just another day in King Cove. Jaclynn brought us down to her friend's boat to check out their catch.

Pumpkins, pumpkins.... Every year the Tustamina brings pumpkins and candy to the kids in False Pass, Akutan, Chignik, King Cove, Cold Bay and Sand Point. The whole crew dresses up and gives out pumpkins to the kiddos. They were all so excited to get on the ferry. It rained all morning and most of the kids were soaking wet but they were all very grateful. My class cut open some of the pumpkins and used them for pumpkin math. We had lots of fun.

Well it's another rainy day in King Cove. Bri and I are staying inside because the wind is so strong it's hard to open the car door. It's nice to take a break from school and relax. Although the weekend seems to go by way to fast.
Teaching is going well. This coming week I will be teaching the about pumpkins. They had a lot of fun last week carving the pumpkins and doing pumpkin math. We are having a Halloween carnival this coming Saturday. The kids are very excited.

More later.
